Neil Frankel, AIA, IBD & his interior designer wife Cindy Coleman Prior to accepting the position of Fitzhugh Scott Distinguished Critic at the University of Wisconsin/Milwaukee, School of Architecture and Urban Planning, Neil Frankel was responsible for Skidmore, Owings & Merrill's Chicago architectural interiors practice. Neil Frankel's professional career has been characterized by a commitment to excellence in design and client service. He has written articles on the design environment, his work is featured in prominent publications and he frequently serves on design juries and participates in national round-table discussions on current design issues. Nationally recognized, through his numerous design awards, for his many achievements in the design of interior space, both domestic and international. |
| In 1997, Mr. Frankel was elected President
of the International Interior Design Association (IIDA) and to the Board of Trustees of
Worldesign Foundation. Neil Frankel was elected into the Interior Design Hall of
Fame in 1994 and IIDA College of Fellows is 1997. He is a member of the Advisory
Board of the Chrysler Corporation Award for Innovation in Design. Cindy Coleman, Neil's wife, is a 20-year veteran in the design industry has a diverse range of professional experiences from corporate design at Skidmore, Owings & Merrill to award winning product design through her own firm, Align Incorporated. In 1996 Cindy joined the staff of the International Interior Design Association (IIDA) as the Executive Editor of Perspective Magazine. |
